Introduction in the Ardennes

Get to know your fellow students at the Tio introduction days! We will camp out in our tents in the Belgian Ardennes. Most of the programme will remain a surprise, but just to give you a hint: once you climbed the mountain, you also have to make it back down again… Abseiling, canoeing, mountain biking, it will be a week filled with sports and fun. Getting to know each other are the key words, so it is not about ragging!

London

Go to London to do your Christmas shopping! London is a must to see. In the months of November and December the city has a fairytale atmosphere, and Santa Claus is certainly not to be missed here!

Berlin

Go on a city trip and visit the Berlin wall, the Fernsehturm television tower, Checkpoint Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate, as well as experience the famous nightlife in the capital of Germany.

Culinary wine trip

Attention wine and gourmet lovers! Come and visit European wineries, breweries, cheese makers and for example a Wagyu farm and taste the best Europe has to offer. Pure enjoyment!

Winter sports

Sun, snow and après-ski? In the early spring, join the Cognatio student society on a trip to discover winter sports!

Study trip to New York

During the study trip to New York, you will become acquainted with the ‘American way’ with regards to business and hospitality. Before you know it, you will have adopted the same pace. This is your chance to experience New York, ‘the city that never sleeps’.

Language trips

A language trip is definitely recommended to improve your language skills. You can choose from destinations such as Berlin, Malaga, Nice, Rome and Salamanca, where you will stay with a guest family. In this way, you will get to know the language and culture very well!

Cognatio student society

Besides learning, studying means having lots of fun too! When you start to study many things change: new city, new study course, new people and maybe even new accommodation. Make full use of everything available to you during your student years by becoming a member of student society ‘Cognatio’.

International exchange

During your minor phase, you can choose to study a semester abroad, for example, in France, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Mexico, Brazil or the United States of America. The perfect way to improve your language skills! An extraordinary experience that you will always remember, and that will also look impressive on your CV.

Guest lectures & company visits

Successful people are an inspiration to others. During your study, Tio therefore invites various successful guest speakers who are specialists in their professional field. Well-known Dutch people and top officials from the industry will share their experiences with you. During your study, you will also pay regular visits to various companies. Take a look around the kitchen at star-status hotels, and visit multinationals, events and trade shows.

Master classes

Masterclasses are organized for students, for example, cookery classes at the three-star restaurant de Librije, media training or sales training.
