Early in the morning all third-year students International Business Management left for a five-day trip to Riga, the capital of Latvia. Student Antonia Miladinovic was one of them and tells you all about their trip. "In Riga we stayed at the Ibis Riga Center hotel. As the name implies, this hotel is located in the city centre. We were welcomed by fresh snowfall."
City tour
"After checking into the hotel, it was time to explore the old city of Riga. The city tour was supposed to take three hours, but it was cut short due to the cold. After walking around the city for an hour, it was time to warm ourselves up a bit, which we did in the nearest bar. Afterwards, it was time to enjoy a typically Latvian dinner. We ended the first night with some dancing in a club."
Company visits at a game developer, cosmetica factory and beer brewery
"The morning after that, we had to get up early as well. Everyone looked their best and was ready to embark on a day of company visits. We visited Brain Games, a developer of board games, and got a tour through the factory of Madara Cosmetics, a manufacturer of biological skincare products. The day ended with a visit to Aldaris, a beer brewery and a museum of Baltic beer types."
Latvian students
"On the next day, we collaborated with local students from the Turiba University. First, we listened to a presentation from the Dutch Embassy. Based on the information we received, we examined how well-known Dutch companies such as Rituals and Philips can enter the Latvian market. The visit to the university ended with a delicious lunch. After that, we had some time for ourselves. Time to go shopping!"
"The study trip ended with a recreational day: games of laser tag and bobsledding. All in all, there was plenty to see and do during the study trip to Latvia."
