Yes, food & retail! On the 14th of November students from Tio Utrecht went to the Bijenkorf to learn more about their Food & Beverages outlets and vision for the future. You might be surprised to find out how big this business is. For example, did you know that they sell over 13 million cups of coffee/tea a year?
The students were well received with a lovely seasonal delicacy (speculaas) followed by a presentation about all the restaurants they have and trends that influence these outlets and the food retail areas. The tour included the recently refurbished restaurant (320 covers) and, luckily, a taster of some items on the menu. Overall the visit was a big success and judging by the visit, food & retail is an emerging aspect of the F&B business that should definitely not be overlooked!
