Tio students develop catchy campaigns for the event industry

How do you develop a campaign to get customers more involved in an event platform? This week, second-year students of Hotel and Event Management seized this challenging assignment for client Eventbranche.nl with both hands. The final, which took place today, was full of creativity. The jury was impressed by all the creative ideas!

Getting started for Eventbranche.nl

The case for the Hotel and Event Management students was presented during the kick-off of the Event Week. Eventbranche.nl has two target groups: event professionals and customers. The first group is already very much involded with the platform, but there is still room for improvement in the second group. The case for the students: present your ideas about what Eventbranche.nl can do to commit customers more to the platform. The students got to work this week full of enthusiasm!

Five finalists in the online final

The five best teams from all campuses were presented in the exciting online award show. According to the jury, they had developed the best concepts. While more than 200 fellow students watched the finals live from home, the finalists were asked tough questions by the jury. Their last chance to convince the jury of their campaign. Exciting? Certainly! But there was little to notice: as accomplished event managers, the finalists knew how to answer all questions professionally!

Jury impressed

The level of the finalists was high; that was folly noted by the jury. Sjoerd Weikamp, owner and editor-in-chief of Eventbranche.nl, on behalf of the jury: “It was of course quite a challenge for the students this year because everything took place online. That was not easy, but every team has done very well. We've heard such great ideas. The finalists were fantastic, they gave exactly the right answers. I hope that they will all come to work in this industry after their graduating, because they can bring about many positive changes!”

And the winner is…

Which team had the very best idea? That was team 13! They developed a campaign including influencer marketing, podcasts, webinars and a live event. A campaign where it is all about connection: #whereyouconnect. The jury about the winning team: “They did a fantastic job. Team 13 has thought carefully about the target group and has worked out a good customer journey. We loved it!” The price? Tickets for the Golden Giraffe Event Awards and tickets for the Beach Branche Barbecue from Eventbranche.nl! Team 28 took second place and team 20 took third place. Congratulations to all winners!
