Tio Business School has five programmes listed in the Higher Education Guide 2026, all of which are ranked number one! We are proud of these excellent results. Tio offers the best in the Netherlands in the fields of business, hotel & event management, tourism, marketing and real estate. It is the fifteenth year in a row that Tio's programmes are in the lead. 

#1 International Business

In the International Business category, Tio ranks first with its International Business Management programme in Utrecht. Our campus in Groningen ranks second and Amsterdam third. The Higher Education Guide mentions that you can attend the programme at any of our six campuses, in both English and Dutch. Our wide range of minor programmes is also mentioned.

#1 in Marketing

Tio's marketing programme Commerce Economics and Entrepreneurship ranks in the top 3 in the marketing category and has been number one for the tenth consecutive year, this year with its Utrecht campus. Tio Groningen comes in second place and Amsterdam in third. The Higher Education Guide emphasises that the programme at Tio has a strong focus on (international) entrepreneurship, where you work on projects such as setting up your own company or brand in small classes.

#1 Hotel school

Tio's ever-popular Hotel and Event Management programme ranks in the top 5 in the category of Higher Hotel Education with 5 programmes. Tio Hengelo ranks number one, followed by Groningen, Utrecht, Eindhoven and Rotterdam. The Higher Education Guide describes the unique combination of hotel management and events, the successful transition, and timely graduation at Tio as strengths.

#1 in Tourism

International Tourism Management ranks first in tourism with our campus in Groningen. It is an excellent programme that is full of practical experience. For example, we joined forces with travel company Corendon and creative agency Justcurious to develop a completely new travel concept. This ‘Gran Corendon Experience’ is entirely set up and supervised by Tio students International Tourism Management. Students can also choose a specialisation within their tourism programme, such as Experience Travel, Festival Management, Luxury Management or Entrepreneurship.

#1 Real Estate

This is the second year that our bachelor programme in Real Estate has been included in the Higher Education Guide, and it has once again been named the best programme in the Netherlands in the field of Real Estate Studies. Tio occupies the top three spots with its programme in Groningen, Utrecht and Amsterdam.
