JOB-monitor: Tio scores far above the national average

Tio and its vocational programmes score far above the national average on most aspects. Those are the results of the JOB-monitor; the largest student satisfaction survey conducted among vocational-education students in the Netherlands. In particular, Tio scores exceptionally high on the aspects of environment, atmosphere and safety, education and guidance and study materials and examination.

Tio students enjoy going to school

Tio students are highly positive about their study and their school, according to the research results that were recently published. Tio scores particularly well on the aspect of “environment, atmosphere and safety.” For example, 85% of Tio's vocational-education students enjoy going to school (compared to the national average of 55%), 89% is positive about the atmosphere at school (national average 63%) and an impressive 90% of Tio's students are positive about the workspaces available at their campus (national average 40%).

“I chose Tio because I appreciate the personal attention very much,” says Tio student Kim van Oostrom. "Tio is a well-regarded institution and I am proud to be a Tio student.” At the time, Kim was enrolled in the vocational Hotel Management programme. Since then, she has begun her International Business Management study at Tio.

Tio's lecturers also score well

Tio also earned notably high scores compared to the national average for the aspects of "education and guidance” and “study materials and examination.” For example, 78% of Tio's vocational-education students are positive about their lecturers (compared to the national average of 53%), while 75% is positive about the guidance they receive as part of their study (national average 48%). In addition, 81% of Tio's students are positive about the study materials and textbooks they use for their study (compared to the national average of 37%).

Tio in the lead

For years, Tio's vocational programmes have been earning excellent scores in the JOB-monitor. For more than fifty years, Tio has been highly regarded for the quality of its personal and small-scale education. As a private school with an entrepreneurial character, Tio can act quickly and accommodate the wishes and needs of its students. One example is the education committee, which allows students from all five Tio campuses to take part in the discussion about Tio's policies and help improve its education even more.
