How can I apply for a Tio bachelor programme?
You can apply for a Tio bachelor programme via the website or during one of Tio’s open days. For applying via the website please click on registration. It is also possible to apply during a Tio open day, where Tio staff is available to help you fill in the application form.

What is the application deadline for a Tio bachelor programme?
You can apply throughout the entire year, so basically until the first week of lectures. However if you need a visa to come to study in The Netherlands at Tio, another application deadline applies. The application deadline for the academic year starting in January for students needing a visa is the 1st of October and for enrolment in September it is the 1st of May.
Please note that a visa is not the only consideration for applying on time. By applying on time you can ensure yourself admission to the location of your choice and it helps you avoid being placed on a waiting list. Tio also recommends applying on time to give yourself ample time to apply for student grants/loans, to order books and if needed, to find a place to live in The Netherlands.

Is it only possible to apply for enrolment in September?
No, enrolment is also possible in January for the bachelor programmes at the campuses in Amsterdam and Utrecht

You may be contacted either by the student administration or location manager about the changes. Please note: if the changes involve cancelation of either some or all optional subject(s) or the entire bachelor programme, cancelation fees as set out in the general terms and conditions are applicable.

How can I cancel my registration after being accepted?
The student can terminate the agreement at all times. The student can inform Tio about the termination in writing and/or by email. For a period of 14 days from the concluding of the agreement the student will have the option to terminate this free of charge without stating reasons, unless the student has already attended lessons of the Tio programme concerned.

  • Termination before the start of the academic year
In the event of termination before 1 July (or before 1 December for the January enrolment), only the enrolment fee of €95 will be charged. In the event of termination in the period between 1 July 2020 and 31 August 2020 (between 1 December 2019 and 31 December 2019 for January enrolment), Tio will in principle charge 25% of the study programme fees.
Study programme fee is taken to mean: the sum of the tuition fee and the price of the optional courses and seminars.
  • Termination after the start of the academic year
If the academic year has started, you will also pay an amount in proportion to the duration of the period of time until termination of the study agreement. The amount you will have to pay will be calculated using the following formula:
    A.    (number of commenced months prior to the termination / 12 months) * study programme fees
    B.    25% * study programme fees

The conditions and fees in regard to cancelation can be found in the general terms and conditions.
